From the Croatian coastal town of Rijeka to Mill Road in Cambridge - the journey of Café Adriatic Ltd is already a great success and yet it's still only the beginning.

In the typical fishing towns of the Croatian Adriatic coast, life is simple, slow and drenched in sunshine. Fresh and good quality food and excellent wine are at the heart of social events and family life.

Raised on a strict diet of sunshine, fine wine and fresh fish the owner of Café Adriatic, Dubo Jelicic is sure to tell you that wherever you go in the world the longing for the Adriatic styles and tastes never leaves you.

Having made a home here, it was only a matter of time before he also created a little piece of that Adriatic magic right here in the heart of Cambridge.

The first Café Adriatic opened its doors in 2000, tucked away in Norfolk Street, Cambridge. In simple but stylish surroundings the food did all the talking.

Good quality honest food, done in the timeless Adriatic tradition, was the spark that ignited the Norfolk Street area.

Fresh fish such as octopus, squid and tuna, wild boar sausages, lamb and roasted fennel were just a few of the dishes that wowed the locals.

Within a few years Café Adriatic had placed itself firmly on the map of Cambridge restaurants, capturing the imagination and loyalty of a delighted clientele.

Due to its popularity, Café Adriatic began to out-grow its original location so after 4 years it was time to move the company to a new venue.

The perfect location didn't take long to find, along one of Cambridge's liveliest and well-known roads. Café Adriatic was re-launched at 66 Mill Road in June 2005 - bigger, brighter and with an even better menu.

The old favourites have kept their place on the menu, such as Frutti di Mare Risotto, Grilled Lamb Polpette and Cold Marinated Octopus Salad.

New additions to the menu have given Café Adriatic another dimension. Home made Rustic Bread and Prosciutto Pizze give more choice and variety to an altogether exciting menu. In good old Café Adriatic tradition the desserts are made on the premises and are as good as ever, everything from creamy Tiramisu to Lemon Sorbet and Cointreau. Naturally the wine selection caters for all palates and fits in perfectly with the fresh dishes on offer.

Café Adriatic can now serve up to 70 customers at any one time so you have every reason to take yourself and your family and friends along to experience a bit of the Adriatic lifestyle.
